EUCO-Net Film
The EUCO-Net project has produced a 12 min film, in which the main aims of the project as well as the people behind it are introduced, and the basic characteristics of the AIDS/TB coinfection issue are explained.
Featuring Sister Susan van Zyl, a study nurse working in a South African community which is severely affected by the two diseases, the film tries to show how people are struggling with the high burden that AIDS and TB, especially in their deadly combination, represent – not only to a few individuals, but to large parts of the population. It also shows how research and patient care are closely interlinked, and why continuous international research efforts and increased funding are necessary to tackle this global threat.
